Compliance

Expired Registration (Tex. Trans.Code 502.407)
Upon receipt of proof a penalty fee was paid and vehicle was registered within 20 working days after the date of the citation, and a $20 administrative fee has been paid the Court shall dismiss the violation. (Failure to pay the fee forfeits your right to a dismissal.)

Defective Equipment (Tex. Trans.Code 547.004(c)
Upon receipt of proof defective equipment violation has been remedied on or before the appearance date the court may dismiss the violation. (Failure to pay the fee forfeits your right to a dismissal.)

Defense to Prosecution Dismissal

Expired Driver License (Tex. Trans.Code 521.026)
Upon receipt of proof driver’s license has been renewed within 20 working days from the date of the offense and a $20 administrative fee has been paid the court may dismiss the violation.

Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (Tex. Trans.Code 601.051)
Upon receipt of evidence of financial responsibility for the date and time of the offense, the court shall dismiss the violation.

Please Note

The Judge does not have the authority to dismiss citations or complaints. Any authority to dismiss a citation is given to the Judge either by statue or pursuant to a standing plea agreement from the City Attorney and under strict guidelines.
