Having worked as the Municipal Court Judge from 1998 – 2010 for the City of Bullard and then from 2010 – Current as the City of Bullard’s Code Compliance Officer, Danny Ray has worked for our community for a total of 24 years (and counting!)! Danny Ray says his favorite thing about his/her job is, “Watching the city grow! Getting to work with the public and help resolve various issues always makes for an exciting day.” If he had to pick something that his current position has taught him, it would be, “Reading builders’ plans, Knowing the requirements set forth by the City, Helping to direct the Contractors, Issuing the necessary permits, and Helping to direct the inspections required.”
Danny Ray’s peers agree, saying –
“If I ever receive a question having to do with pretty much anything building related or permit related, I go straight to Danny Ray! He is very knowledgeable, can point me in the right direction, and always has an entertaining story up his sleeve!”
Some fun tidbits about Danny Ray:
- He is originally from Williamsport, Indiana (home of Indiana’s highest free-falling waterfall!)
- In his downtime, he enjoys watching the History Channel, keeping up with friends through social media, and spending time with his Grandkids – Nattee & Bobo, and his Bulldog – Weezer.
When asked, “What was it that attracted you to the City of Bullard?” Danny Ray answered:
“My wife was born and raised here. When I retired from the City of Diboll as the Police Chief after 20 years, my wife asked what I was going to do? In return, I asked her what she was going to do! When she answered, ‘Moving to Bullard’, I said, ‘I’m going with you!’”
We are happy you came with her Danny Ray! The City of Bullard is very lucky to have you as our Code Compliance Officer and in our community!
