Chief Bragg first joined the Bullard Police Department in 2005 and during his tenure with Bullard PD, Chief Bragg has served in multiple capacities including Patrol Officer, K9 Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Captain. After 16 years with the Bullard Police Department, Chief Jeff Bragg took the helm as the department’s Chief Administrator in February of 2021 where he continues to serve the citizens of Bullard Texas.
Chief Bragg began his Law Enforcement career in 1994 with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office where he worked in the Jail Division and served as a Corporal. After becoming a certified Peace Officer, he continued his career in 1997 when he transferred to the City of Brownsboro Police Department where he served as an Officer, and eventually the Chief of Police. Chief Bragg then transferred back to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office and served as a Patrol Deputy until 2005 when he came to join the Bullard Police Department.
Chief Bragg is a 26-year Law Enforcement veteran, and has also earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from LeTourneau University, where he is still currently attending to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He enjoys being involved in many different community organizations including serving as the Chairperson for the Bullard Area Chamber of Commerce and being an active member of the Rotary Club of Bullard where he received the “Paul Harris Fellow” award in 2022.
Since becoming Chief of Police, Chief Bragg has implemented new and fresh ideas to the department to include the restructure of the Criminal Investigations Division, the creation of two new Lieutenant positions, and the formation of the new Bullard Special Response Team, which also participates in the Cherokee County Regional Special Response Team. In 2021, he spear headed the relocation of the Police Department from its shared space at Bullard City Hall, to a building in the downtown area which allows for more efficient Police services to be provided to the citizens of Bullard.
Chief Jeff Bragg takes pride in providing high quality Police services to this community and has always diligently expected Bullard Police Officers to be proactive, and to actively combat crimes against persons, property, and illegal drug trafficking.
