Lieutenant Berryhill first joined the Bullard Police Department in January of 2021 and during his tenure with Bullard PD, Lt. Berryhill has served as a Detective (Jan. 2021-Aug. 2021), the Criminal Investigations Division Sergeant (Aug. 2021-Apr. 2022), and now currently serves as the Support Services Lieutenant for Bullard Police Department.

Lieutenant Berryhill began his Law Enforcement career in 2010 with Jacksonville Police Department as a Patrol Officer. In 2014, he became a Narcotics Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division, and shortly after that, he was promoted to Sergeant in the Patrol Division in 2015. About 4 years later, Chase Berryhill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant over the Criminal Investigations Division. During his tenure with the Jacksonville Police Department, Lt. Berryhill served in many other capacities including a K9 Handler, SWAT Operator, SWAT Sniper, SWAT Team Leader, and SWAT Commander. In 2020, he transferred to the Rusk Police Department as a Supervisor in the Patrol Division and after a short period of time accepted the Detective position with the Bullard Police Department in 2021.

Lieutenant Berryhill has served several communities in his 12 years in Law Enforcement and has also earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Tyler Junior College and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Leadership at Texas A&M-Commerce. He holds a Master Peace Officer’s License, TCOLE Instructor’s License, and is a former AXON Instructor. Lieutenant Berryhill has spent his entire career serving in Tactical units and in 2016 successfully completed training in Advanced Hostage Rescue Tactics and Techniques.  In 2012, Lieutenant Berryhill was awarded the Lee Zimmerman Award from the Jacksonville Police Department and has since received the Bullard Police Department Leadership Award in 2021. 

Since beginning his time here at Bullard Police Department, Lieutenant Chase Berryhill has aided in the creation of the new Bullard Special Response Team, which participates in the Cherokee County Regional SWAT Team, where Lt. Berryhill currently serves as a Team Leader. During his tenure with the department, he has made strides in professionalizing the Criminal Investigations Division so that the citizens of Bullard have qualified, professional Investigators handling their cases. “ I want each person that files a report with our agency to know the status of their case and know that no matter what the crime is, we will be passionate about assisting the victims, apprehending criminals, and protecting everyone’s constitutional rights.”

Lieutenant Chase Berryhill loves and appreciates the culture the Bullard Police Department has developed within the agency and loves serving the community where his family lives.
