Successful law enforcement depends largely upon citizen interest and participation.  The goal of the Bullard Police Department is to build a community partnership that will carry forward this mission.  We as professionals will always be responsive to the needs of our citizens and visitors and we are committed to providing this service with distinction.


The Chief’s duties may include, but are not limited to planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the Police Department’s personnel and operations in the protection of life and property, maintenance of peace and order, enforcement of laws, prevention of crime, apprehension and arrest of violators and maintenance of police records.  The Police Chief meets with members of the community, school officials, business professionals, representatives of homeowner associations and political figures regarding law enforcement matters and community relations.  He works cooperatively with representatives from other law enforcement agencies, courts, probation, parole, and prosecutorial agencies to coordinate law enforcement activities.  The Bullard Police Chief attends City Council meetings to present and explain issues pertaining to the community, law enforcement problems, and departmental requirements, policies and procedures.

Patrol Division duties may include, but are not limited to enforcing State Penal and Vehicle Code Sections, and other state and local laws and regulations governing public safety.  Responds to radio and telephone dispatches and handles activities at the scenes of crimes and other disorders.  Investigates and prepares reports on arrests and impounded property.  Trains in tactical and other departmental assignments, and performs related duties as assigned.

The Bullard Police Department will always strive to provide the highest quality service, preserving human rights, lives, and property, while attempting to achieve the goals and objectives of the department, the City and the community. 
Patrol Division
1.  Maintain a positive community opinion of the department through professional behavior of personnel.

2.  Minimize crime through preventative efforts by all personnel and through the encouragement of involvement by groups and     individual citizens.

3.  Minimize personal injury and property loss to Bullard citizens by identifying and apprehending persons suspected of     committing crimes.

4.  Upon arrest, assist prosecution of persons suspected of committing crimes.
